There are a ton of camera settings you can tweak and play with, but there are three that are the foundation for making your image look properly exposed.

Aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.

Note: Here's a visual example I mentioned in the episode of the difference between a high and low aperture. You can see that at f16, the speaker is completely in focus, while at f2.8 the background is blurred and you immediately focus your attention on the camera.
